GRI   PTA   ADOPT  A  SCHOOL   PROGRAM

The GRI PTA has adopted a Kindergarten - 5th grade "at risk" school in Chesapeake. Our adopted school has a very small PTA that is made up mostly of school staff. Teachers are often buying basic supplies for their students. PTA is an organization that helps all children. Where students in our own school who are in need will always be taken care of first,  we  hope that you agree that we need to  reach out and help others in our community also. Our plan for this year is as follows:

We will have a box in the Main Hallway to collect school supplies throughout the year.  Needed Items: Pencils, Notebooks, Erasers, Glue Sticks, Highlighters, Hand Sanitizer, Rulers, Loose Leaf Paper, Binders, crayons, Markers, Tissues, Scissors and Folders.

Our Food and Toy Drives will benefit our adopted school.

We will have a scarf, mitten and hat tree in December.

Teachers at GRI have asked that one of the meals that our PTA provides for them during Teacher Appreciation Week be given to the teachers at our adopted school.

Other needed items:

Socks, underwear and some gently used clothing for the nurses office.
